What equipment is needed for water analysis?

A water analysis laboratory can operate in a variety of formats: from production control to environmental monitoring. But in most cases, the basic set of equipment includes a pH meter, conductivity meter, TDS meter, photometer or spectrophotometer, laboratory scales, dispensers, thermostatic equipment and consumables.

The specific configuration depends on what parameters are controlled: acidity, mineralization, turbidity, content of individual substances, color or other indicators. If the laboratory operates with an expanded range of techniques, a spectrophotometer and convenient sample preparation become especially important.

Don’t forget about the auxiliary parts: dishes, dispensers, filtration, storage conditions for samples and proper organization of the workplace. Without this, the analytical device will not reveal its capabilities.

Therefore, when equipping a water laboratory, it is important to think not only about the instruments, but also about the full operating cycle - from sampling to reporting the results.
